Former U.S. President Bill Clinton will headline an international conference, where policy, payments and technology experts will share ideas based on blockchain technology in financial services.
He will deliver a keynote address and participate in a question-and-answer session at the two-day conference to be held in San Francisco in October.
Gene Sperling, National Economic Council Director and Advisor under Presidents Clinton and Obama, will moderate the Q&A.
The Swell 2018 Conference is organized by Cryptocurrency payments startup Ripple.
The main focus of discussions will be on three subjects: Financial services companies using blockchain technology in production; new market opportunity in remittances, e-commerce and corporate marketplaces; and frameworks for regulating digital assets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Representatives of the world’s central banks will share their explorations with blockchain – both what they’ve done so far and what they have planned for the future.
Global leaders in blockchain and cryptocurrency payments will tell the conference how they built a career on taking giant leaps forward to implement innovative technologies in their organizations. They share an inside view into what they are thinking about next, the organizers said.
