What time will all the DIY stores be open over the bank holiday

With the August bank holiday set to be a sunny one, many Brits may well be planning a spot of DIY in an attempt to get the home make the most of the last days of summer.

But, before you start dreaming of what your new outside decking will look like and head to your local store, you might want to check if your local Homebase, B&Q or Wickes chain is open, and if so, at what time.

B&Q

Hardware chain B&Q will be open throughout the weekend – and it seems like there’s recently been some big price drops on the likes of outdoor furniture and garden tools.

Friday 24 August: Most B&Q stores will be open between 7am and 9pm.

Saturday 25 August : Most B&Q stores will be open between 7am and 8pm.

Sunday 26 August: Most B&Q stores will be open between 10am and 4pm.

Monday 27 August: Most B&Q stores will be open between 7am and 9pm.

If you want to double check, simply pop your postcode into the B&Q store finder .

Homebase

If you’re doing the house up, building a shed, or want to add a second coat to your newly coloured walls, Homebase is probably the place to be – so you’ll be pleased to know it’s well and truly open over the weekend. They are also running 3 for 2 on all paint and woodcare, and 20% of certain garden and DIY power tool brands amongst other offers.

Saturday 25 August: 7am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

Sunday 26 August: 10am-4pm for most stores, like normal Sunday hours.

Monday 27 August: 7am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

Wickes are offering a buy one get one free deal on all 2.5L emulsion paint and all woodcare this upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Saturday 25 August: 8am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

Sunday 26 August: 10am-4pm for most stores, like normal Sunday hours.

Monday 27 August: 8am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

Screwfix

The home of hardware will be open on Bank Holiday Monday. On Sunday all stores will operate usual trading times too, although there’s some noted differences between selected stores.

Friday 24 August: 7am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

Saturday 25 August: 7am-6pm for most stores, like normal.

Sunday 26 August: 9am-4pm for most stores, like normal Sunday hours.

Monday 27 August: 7am-8pm for most stores, like normal.

However, these Screwfix bank holiday times do exclude London stores (7am – 8pm), and you can check when your local Screwfix is open using their super handy store finder tool.

If you’re looking for technology, motoring, camping products and more than Halfords is your best bet. The megastore has all the hardware you could need.

They are currently running a big summer sale, but shoppers will need to be quick if they want to bag a bargain.
