Ryanair Holdings PLC RYA said it expects to operate 85% of its schedule Friday as pilots in five European countries take strike action, their fifth such action since July 12.
The Irish airline said it took every step to minimize the disruption and notified customers as early as possible, advising them of their options for a free move on to another flight, refund or reroute options.
In an emailed statement late Thursday Ryanair apologized to affected customers and sought continued negotiations with the striking unions "instead of calling any more unjustified strikes."
The strikes are being held by Ryanair pilots in Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany.
Ryanair said it expects over 2,000 of its flights to operate as normal, carrying almost 400,000 customers across Europe.
