Biden received 'congratulations' from Pope Francis: transition statement

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President-Elect Joe Biden spoke with Pope Francis on Thursday, and Biden thanked him for his “blessing and congratulations,” his transition team said in a statement.

Biden told the pope he wanted to work together on issues including caring for the poor, addressing climate change, and welcoming immigrants and refugees.
