Brexit: Lord Adonis grilled by host over calls for extension
After years of political wrangling, Brussels and Britain have reached a post-Brexit trade agreement, with the UK’s chief negotiator Lord Frost agreeing on the final terms with his European counterpart Michel Barnier just moments ago. The deal comes after major sticking points were resolved on the issues of state aid, fishing rights and the contentious so-called level playing field. Now Express.co.uk is asking: are you pleased with the outcome for Britain?
EU lawyers are now drafting legal texts so the UK can provisionally apply the new treaty.
Under the plan, the Brexit trade deal will enter into force but MEPs won’t vote to rubber-stamp the agreement until the New Year.
The Prime Minister, who has been in constant contact with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will hope this agreement delivers on his vow to “take back control” of the country’s laws, borders and waters.
But do you think Mr Johnson has done enough? Let us know in the poll below.
