While Mr Johnson has delivered on prizing Britain from the EU, several snags in the process remain.

Attention is focussed on the controversial Northern Ireland protocol, as both British and Irish politicians have argued it establishes a trade border in the Irish Sea.

The ruling DUP reached a tipping point with the protocol last week when First Minister Paul Givan resigned, claiming the arrangement costs Northern Ireland £100,000 an hour.

In total, that leaves the country footing a significant £2.5 million bill every day.

But at the same time, compliance with EU rules meant that Northern Ireland avoided many of the supply chain issues that strangled the rest of the UK.

As the protocol ignites arguments across the UK, Express.co.uk asks, what would you do?
