Jared Kushner plans to write a book about his time in the White House, with a specific focus on his negotiations in the Middle East, according to Reuters.
The book will shed some light on the Abraham Accords, a series of historic deals between Israel and several Arab states, including the UAE and Bahrain.
The arrangement, brokered with Kushner’s help, was the first official peace deal between the UAE and Israel in a decade and has become a key accomplishment touted by Trump.
Kushner is “not looking to settle scores but rather to provide historical context and help readers understand what it was like to work in the Trump White House,” a source close to the matter told Reuters.
Trump’s son-in-law and former senior advisor is also expected to discuss other major events in the last four years, including Trump’s impeachments, the Black Lives Matter protests, the Russia probe, and the coronavirus pandemic.
“It will be an interesting perspective from someone who had a wide-ranging portfolio, was in the room for many of the most tense and consequential moments but kept a fairly low public profile, staying behind the scenes and granting limited media access,” a source close to Kushner told Reuters.
According to Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, Kushner does not yet have a book deal.
Since Trump has left office, Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump have been living in Florida. According to a CNN report last week, Kushner has barely been in touch with Former President Trump despite once being one of his closest aides.
He was also absent from a high-powered meeting last week in which the former president planned his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Committee as a broader political relaunch.
