Earlier this week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his Government would break from a major Conservative manifesto pledge. From April 2022, National Insurance will increase by a 1.25 percentage point, as part of the Government’s plans to reform the health and social care system. MPs will vote tonight (Wednesday, September 8) in the House of Commons on whether to vote down or approve the new changes.
