Rishi Sunak’s new Cabinet is set to meet for the first time this morning at 9:30am, Number 10 has confirmed. It comes less than 24 hours after a Downing Street shakeup that saw nearly a dozen of Liz Truss’s top team pushed out, including Jacob Rees-Mogg, Brandon Lewis and Jake Berry. Those brought back into the fold include Suella Braverman, Dominic Raab and Michael Gove. The newly appointed Prime Minister will be expected to defend his decisions in his first session of Prime Minister’s Questions today at midday. He will be looking to distance himself from his predecessor Ms Truss who he said had made “mistakes” in her short tenure.
