Joe Biden sat down with Lester Holt as part of NBC’s Nightly News with Mr Holt addressing comments from the President that inflation would be “temporary”. Mr Biden appeared annoyed at the question and called the journalist a “wise guy” before explaining supply chains were the issue. It is not the first time Mr Biden has been hostile with news reporters with the President recently calling Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b****” last month.

Speaking on NBC, Mr Holt wanted to know what Mr Biden’s definition of temporary was in light of US inflation continuing to cripple the country.

He told the President: “I think it was back in July, you said inflation was going to be temporary.

“I think a lot of Americans are wondering what your definition of temporary is?”

Mr Biden said back in July that “no serious economist” believed “unchecked inflation” was “on the way.”

He added that experts believe the price increases in day-to-day living would be “temporary”.

A peeved Mr Biden responded: “Well, you’re being a wise guy with me a little bit.

“I understand that’s your job, at the time what happened was… let’s look at the reason for the inflations.

“The reason for the inflation is the supply chains were cut off meaning that products, for example, automobiles, the lack of computer chips to be able to build those automobiles so they could function… they need those computer chips.

“They were not available.”

Mr Biden then said because cars were not available transport and supply chains were disrupted.

In January, Mr Biden made headline news after he called Mr Doocy a “stupid son of a b****”.

Mr Doocy was being escorted from a press conference and shouted out questions to Mr Biden, asking whether he thought inflation would be a “liability” for the midterm elections.

Mr Biden scoffed and sarcastically said it was a “great asset” before insulting him.

In another press conference in January, Mr Biden appeared to raise his voice at a reporter.

Reporter Philip Wegmann for RealClearNews asked: “You campaigned, and you ran on a return to civility and I know that you dispute the characterization that you called folks who would oppose those voting bills as being Bull Connor or George Wallace.

“But you said that there would be sort of in the same camp?”

Mr Biden responded, “No, I didn’t say that.

“Look what I said. Go back and read what I said and tell me if you think I called anyone who voted on the side of the position taken by Bull Connor that they were Bull Connor?

“And that is an interesting reading of English. Yeah, I assume you got it in the journals because you like to write.”
